Medical Insurance (MI)

I. Requirements of Medical Insurance

1. It is required that full-time students must be covered under a medical insurance coverage throughout their course duration. 

2. Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents (PR) and international students not on the Student Pass and Students under corporate sponsorship or corporate agreement between the private education institution and the sponsor organisation can be exempted from the medical insurance scheme if they have their own medical insurance.

3. This Medical Insurance scheme is mandatory for Full-time STP students but not mandatory for the part-time students.

II. Information on JECollege’s Medical Insurance Coverage

JE Educational College has in place a Medical Insurance (MI) Scheme with the Prudential Assurance Co. Singapore (Pte) Ltd. for all its students.

The Medical Insurance premium is payable if the student opt in for the College’s Medical Insurance Scheme. The students are required to pay this amount upon their enrolment of course with JE College.

Students are clearly communicated the medical insurance policy ( JE College websites and student contract), stating clearly the policy terms and conditions, the claim procedure and possible exclusion.

III. Procedures for purchasing of insurance

This is a group insurance package which is directly signed by JE College and the Prudential Assurance Co. Singapore (Pte) Ltd. in contractual agreement. The insurance coverage will be effective once the student pays all the fees payable to the school including his premiums.
*Special notes: The above-mentioned medical insurance is the basic coverage as required under the law by the Singapore government. For students who wish to increase their scope of coverage, they are to contact the insurance company individually.
